INO's customers have already taken advantage of our expertise in the field of microbolometers and IR modules. Bolometers are thermal microdetectors that are relatively inexpensive to produce and do not require cryogenic cooling, which makes it possible to integrate them with more compact and robust devices that are less expensive than low temperature detectors. They can be used to meet diverse needs in a wide variety of applications, including night vision, observation of Earth from space, enemy surveillance, border control, fingerprint scanning, pollution and fire detection, spectroscopy, non-contact inflammation and infection detection, road surveillance, and more.
INO has developped a generic core, IRXCAM, that can be adapted to various IR and THz detectors: 160 x 120 IR 160 x 120 THz 384 x 288 IR 384 x 288 THz 640 x 480 IR 1024 x 768 IR 2048 x 1536 IR 512x3 IR INO has also integrated a variety of detectors into a number of imaging systems to meet the specific needs of its customers. One example is the ultralight infrared thermal weapon sight we developed for surveillance purposes. This same expertise has been put to use on a number of different kinds of detectors: prototypes of double band thermal weapon sight, catadioptric microscan providing twice the resolution, bolometric detectors for an airborne imaging device used for soil analysis in agriculture and forestry, and a linear detector array for a satellite-based multispectral imaging system.
Bolometers are vanadium oxide-based thermal microdetectors sensitive over a broad spectral range, including the 8–12 µm spectral band. INO’s standard model is a 160 x 120 pixel, 50 µm focal plane array with 80 mK sensitivity. This detector comes as an integrated readout circuit or a compact multi-card camera set designed for instrument integration. INO also offers solutions based on 640 x 480 pixel high resolution detectors as well as two linear arrays of 512 x 3 and 256 x 1 pixels respectively
Our teams boast solid expertise in design, simulation, vanadium oxide synthesis, microfabrication, vacuum packaging, integration, and characterization. Call on them to help evaluate your needs and put their know-how to work for you.
