New expertise in glue characterization
- To support our military and space projects, the Optomechanics Group conducted a static and dynamic analysis of two glues (epoxy andsilicone). A better understanding of the characteristics of these glues enabled us to develop a finite-element model that corresponds to our conditions of use.It will now be easier to predict the behavior of optical assemblies in more demanding operating environments. The
findings of this analysis were presented at the SPIE Optics + Photonics conference in San Diego city in August 2011.
