Background

Numerous defense, security, military, transport, and aerospace applications require high-resolution infrared imaging capabilities. To meet this demand, INO has developed a high-resolution infrared camera module based on its IRXCAM platform and on its patented microscanned lightweight catadioptric lens. With its open architecture, this user-friendly module offers extensive flexibility with respect to integration.

Solution

INO introduces its new infrared high-resolution camera module providing outstanding 1280 x 960 pixel images based on an uncooled infrared sensor operating in the LWIR range. The HRXCAM-1280 camera core is a module that uses a state-of-the-art 640 x 480 pixel microbolometer detector, which is microscanned to yield high-resolution images.

The camera core is combined with a unique microscanned lightweight catadioptric lens. The optics can be made compact as a result of a folded path. The catadioptric optics offers a wide field-of-view and opening (large NA) while keeping weight to a minimum. Furthermore, the reflective design can be further modified to operate with different sensor resolution and different sensor wavebands.

Description

The camera module, which provides a 16-bit raw signal, is especially designed for development because it provides full access to the detector configuration parameters. TECless operation minimizes module size and power consumption. The camera module can be configured for outdoor operation, for observation over a large scene thermal range with 200°C dynamic range at maximum sensitivity.
