INO, the largest centre of expertise in industrial optics/ photonics in Canada, and the Centre de Recherche Informatique de Montréal (CRIM), a cutting-edge centre of expertise in applied artificial intelligence, have entered into a collaboration agreement to accelerate the implementation of artificial intelligence in business, particularly through the use of synthetic data.

Confiance IA – Quebec’s industrial consortium for the development of sustainable, ethical, secure, and responsible artificial intelligence – has mandated INO to promote the Confiance IA collaborative approach with technology companies in metropolitan Quebec. INO will therefore contribute to the implementation of collaborative R&D projects to develop trusted artificial intelligence by bringing together several experts who will develop solutions adopted by several industrial sectors in Quebec. 

Yesterday, Mouvement des accélérateurs d'innovation du Québec (MAIN) revealed the momentumPI service, which aims to offer intellectual property (I.P.) services to startups with high growth potential. INO and Quantino are pleased to obtain partner organization status for the deep tech sector.

As a tribute to its former president and CEO, who helped make the Quebec City region a prime location for research, bring about major changes in the regional economy, and encourage the establishment of numerous knowledge-based companies, INO has created the Jean-Guy Paquet Scholarship. This $50,000 scholarship is intended to enable a student to carry out an applied research project. Today, INO is proud to announce its first winner, Mr. Maxime Vaidis, a doctoral student in computer science who will carry out a project based on artificial intelligence and optics-photonics to increase the efficiency of forest harvesting and limit resource wastage.

This morning, INO held its annual general meeting for the fiscal year 2022-2023. And the results, which seem to confirm that innovation has regained its rightful place in the priorities of businesses, lived up to expectations.

INO and the MiQro Innovation Collaboration Center (C2MI), Canada's largest R&D center for electronic systems, have signed a collaboration agreement to enhance Quebec and Canadian semiconductor development and manufacturing.
