Résumé: The main goal of this article is to present the strategic approach
taken by INO, a private non-profit R&D center, to address its challenges like
funding sustainability, alignment to industry needs, rapidity of development
and ability to innovate. The implementation of a matrix structure including a
classical project management approach is described in details. Issues and
strategies deployed during the change period will be discussed. Finally, results
achieved after a 2-year period have proven that INO is now better aligned to
face some aspects of today’s R&D reality.
