JOB DESCRIPTION

The Industry Manager will report to the President and Chief Executive Officer and lead a specialized business unit in a specific industrial sector. They will oversee the establishment of business relations based on a close relationship with clients to define and understand their needs. They will also develop and promote technological solutions relevant to their respective customer base. They will be responsible for growing the backlog and the client base, developing and implementing the marketing plan of the solutions, and overseeing the profitability of the business unit. 

The Industry Manager will establish and develop successful long-term relationships with clients and organizations relevant to their industry. In addition to generating and closing sales, they are responsible for managing opportunities through the customer relationship management system (CRM). They will develop and implement the marketing plan and conduct campaigns targeting the industrial sector under their responsibility. They will ensure that their industry’s activities are fully carried out so as to meet the needs and expectations expressed by clients. They will be responsible for developing offers for clients and recommending the areas of technological development in line with the industry needs.

The incumbent will development business cases to secure internal financing for the development of their business sector’s technological skills and solutions. They will work in close collaboration with the Vice-President, Business Development and Partnerships to coordinate the goals and operations of satellite offices and manage major multi-sector accounts and partners.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL PROFILE

  • You have a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in business development in a high-tech environment
  • You have thorough knowledge of your industry’s needs, problems and opportunities
  • You understand all the contemporary concepts, practices and tools related to marketing and sales management
  • You have a university degree in science and engineering
  • You have a minimum of 5 years of experience supervising employees
  • You are fluent in English and French, both spoken and written
  • You have a certificate in project management or an M.B.A. (considered an asset)

  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • You demonstrate a strong ability to mobilize a work team
  • Your style of leadership is based on sharing information, collaborating and achieving goals
  • You have an acute sense of work planning and organization
  • You are available to travel 40% of your time
