Reporting to the Vice-President, Corporate Affairs, the Intellectual Property Professional will assist INO development team with prior art searches and freedom-to-operate and patentability issues to guide the team toward innovative solutions. The incumbent will also sit on the intellectual property committee and will analyze declarations of intellectual property and make recommendations on how to protect and maximize the value of such assets.. The person will assist with patent prosecution strategies and be involved in the management of INO technology assets. Finally, the Intellectual Property Professional will work with the business development team to identify potential buyers for INO inventions, particularly through the use of databases.
You have a graduate degree in a relevant scientific field.
You have experience in intellectual property management and prior art searches at a technology company or a recognized intellectual property firm.
You are familiar with patent databases.
You are bilingual in English and French.
You are a patent agent (an asset).
You are highly skilled at writing, in English and French.
You have excellent analysis and strategic thinking skills.
You have recognized communication skills and a knack for making complex technical data accessible.
