Your challenges

Reporting to the Vice-President, Operations, the R&D Manager is responsible for managing several groups of diverse technologies. He is accountable for the success of internal and external projects aligned with corporate objectives. He must promote excellence and innovation within Operations.

To do so, the incumbent must optimize the workload and plan the budget under his responsibility. He participate in the operational prioritization of projects by considering delivery capacity, and plan for the human resources necessary to carry out these projects.

The essentials

  • You have an undergraduate degree in a relevant scientific field and an understanding of the state of optic-photonic innovation;

  • You have a minimum of 15 years of experience in team management within a company working in a technical or high-tech environment;

  • You are fluent in English and French, both spoken and written.

You would ideally bring these qualities to our team:

  • You are able to think strategically and set priority objectives for teams;

  • You have the ability to make decisions, sometimes very quickly, that impact the company

  • You are able to exercise managerial authority over a brilliant team that is significant in terms of both size and accountability;

  • You are curious and extremely adaptable to a growing and complex environment;

  • You are able to stimulate as well as channel the creativity of your teams;

  • You are calm and able to keep your cool in a high-pressure environment, and can allay concerns and doubts with instructional leadership and diplomacy.
