JOB DESCRIPTION

The Vice-President, Business Development and Partnerships (BDP) will report to the President and Chief Executive Officer and be responsible for business and strategic partnership development as well as managing agreements for key accounts. As a member of the management team, the Vice-President, BDP will play an important role in INO’s strategic, operational and budget planning. The incumbent will work with members of the five business units, supporting them with their respective business development and marketing activities. The role also involves developing and maintaining successful long-term business relationships and increasing the number of interventions made among government agencies and departments (e.g., NRCC, DRDC, CSA) at the federal and provincial levels, as well as with clients of those agencies. They will also build strong professional partnerships to be able to serve a greater number of strategic clients.

The Vice-President, BDP will be responsible for optimizing the marketing of INO’s technologies and services, implementing best practices and developing internal marketing capabilities to support business units, and leveraging and promoting the technologies, intellectual property and solutions offered by INO. The incumbent will be actively involved in INO’s clients’ projects, from analysis of the needs to delivery, and propose the optimal winning solutions. They will also manage a multidisciplinary business development team with some members working remotely.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL PROFILE

  • You are fluent in English and French, both spoken and written
  • You have a university degree in sciences and engineering
  • You have a minimum of 20 years of relevant experience in business development and with managing a team specialized in consultative technical selling
  • You have a minimum of 20 years of experience in a highly technical field
  • You have extensive management committee experience

  • You have strong interpersonal and strategic skills
  • You are able to understand internal and external clients’ needs and expectations, and provide quality customer service
  • You demonstrate keen political acumen:

  • You demonstrate a strong ability to learn about key challenges facing a variety of industrial sectors
  • You are very autonomous in completing your tasks
  • You are willing to travel several weeks per year, both in Canada and abroad
  • Your leadership style is based on a common vision, mobilization and results
