Jean-Marie Toulouse has been an academic for 38 years, 35 at HEC Montréal and three at the University of Ottawa. His research and academic interests focus on entrepreneurship and entrepreneurs, as well as corporate strategy.

Throughout his career, he published close to 100 articles in scientific and professional reviews, as well as a number of books and chapters. For more than 25 years, he held the following executive positions at HEC Montréal: program director, research director, department director and, lastly, school director for a period of 12 years.

During his career, he served on a number of boards of directors in the education and business sectors, as well as not-for-profit organizations. He is currently a member of the Boards of Directors of Canam, SAQ, EEB, CORIM, IFA, IFM 2 and the Fondation universitaire de HEC Montréal.
