Kathy Baig, Eng., MBA, ASC, DHC, is a corporate director. She is president of the board of Engineers Canada, the national organization for the 12 provincial and territorial engineering regulatory bodies. From 2017 to 2022, she served on the board of directors of Via Rail. She is also a board member with Fondaction, Nav Canada, Institute for governance of private and public organization (IGOOP) and INO.

From 2016 to 2022, Kathy Baig was president of Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ), an organization that oversees and supports some 70,000 engineering professionals in Quebec. She is known for her commitment to diversity in the profession and for having made exceptional strides toward rebuilding trust in the engineering profession in the aftermath of the Charbonneau Commission. Prior to her election as president of OIQ, she spent over 10 years in the private sector working for multinationals (IBM, Johnson & Johnson), an SME (Pyrogenesis), and Aéroports de Montréal (ADM).

Her accomplishments have been recognized by École de technologie supérieure (honorary doctorate), Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec (Mercure leadership award), Engineers Canada (Fellow), and the Canadian Academy of Engineering (Fellow). She also received a Canada’s Top 40 under 40 award for the 2019 edition of this prestigious national awards program.
Kathy Baig holds degrees in chemical engineering from Polytechnique Montréal and business administration from HEC Montréal. She has completed the governance certification program at Université Laval’s Collège des administrateurs de sociétés.
