Member of the board of directors since 2010
After graduating with a Bachelor of Nursing, Monique Bégin received a Master of Public Administration in 1978 before joining the Ministry of Health and Social Services as a manager.
In 1982, she was appointed Director of Visitor Services for the Ministry of Tourism, Hunting and Fishing, and in 1985, she moved to the Quebec health insurance board (RAMQ), where she held the position of Director of Client Services. Later on, she was appointed Executive Director of Communication-Québec and stayed in this position from 1988 to 1990. In 1990, Mrs. Bégin was promoted Assistant Deputy Minister for the Travail-Québec network at the Ministry of Labour, Income Security and Occupational Training (MMSRFP).
In 1993, Mrs. Bégin became Executive Director of the Regional Board of Health and Social Services for Quebec City region.
In 1996, she was appointed Actual Deputy Minister for the Regions and, in 1999, Associate Secretary General of the Executive Council for the Government of Quebec responsible for modernizing public service. Finally, from 2001 to 2005, she held the position of President and Executive Director of the Société de la faune et des parcs du Québec.
Having left public service in 2005, she joined the financial group, La Capitale, as Vice-President, Communications and Public Relations.
Monique Bégin graduated from Université Laval’s CAS (Corporate Directors College) in 2008 and retired in the same year.
She now sits on the boards of directors of a number of companies.
