Paule De Blois

Paule De Blois is President and CEO of Axelys, a new organization created in 2021 by Ministère de l’Économie et de l’Innovation du Québec to accelerate the development and transfer of promising innovations resulting from Québec public research. Ms. De Blois has over 25 years of hands-on experience and achievements in management and business administration, particularly in the context of start-ups, business maturation, and restructuring.

From 2017 to 2020, Ms. De Blois ran SOVAR, which was also active in technology development and transfer. From 2005 to 2017, she held senior executive positions in biotechnology (Vice President of Operations at DiagnoCure) and robotics (Chief Operating Officer at B-Temia), in addition to serving as executive director of the Network for Personalized Healthcare of Québec.

During those years, she helped develop and implement new business, sales, and marketing strategies, concluded a number of business collaboration and clinical study agreements, and implemented new governance and operational frameworks. She also gained first-hand experience with regulatory issues, technical and clinical trials, commercialization of innovations, international expansion, and corporate financing.

Earlier in her career, Ms. De Blois held positions of increasing responsibility in the insurance and employee benefits sector (The Prudential Insurance Company of America – Canada, Desjardins Financial Security, Aon and Mercer).

She currently sits on the boards of directors of Mouvement des accélérateurs d’innovation du Québec, Réseau Capital, and Musée de la civilisation de Québec.

Ms. De Blois holds an MBA from McGill University, a bachelor’s degree in political science from Concordia University, and a certificate in marketing from Université du Québec à Montréal. She also has corporate director certification from Collège des administrateurs de sociétés at Université Laval.
