Cut your costs and boost performance by adding QuickCTR to your production chain! INO’s QuickCTR auto-centering technology quickly aligns lenses with a high level of precision.

Our patented auto-centering method is based on the geometric relationship between the lens diameter, the lens curvature radius, and the thread angle of the retaining ring. Certain geometric parameters of the retaining ring are selected to create auto-centering conditions whereby any decentering—and corresponding tilt—of the retaining ring will have a counterbalancing effect on the centering of the optical element.

Our lens auto-centering technology is available in three options that all offer you the ability to quickly auto-center lenses in a barrel without using active alignment:

  • QuickCTR-thread: Ideal for assemblies requiring a very high degree of precision and the use of custom-made clamping threads
  • QuickCTR-edge: Designed to achieve more precise alignment than the drop-in method with standard clamping threads
  • QuickCTR-tor: Perfect for precision centering of molded plastic lenses

Our tests show that lens alignment takes less than 25 seconds per lens, with accuracy of over 0.5 arcminutes.

The method works with spherical, aspherical, and cylindrical lenses, regardless of lens geometry. It supports a variety of lens shapes, including plano- and bi-convex, plano- and bi-concave, and positive and negative meniscus lenses, as well as all centrosymmetric flat optical components.
