INO offers gold black deposition services as well as custom coating and patterning. Our gold black facility includes gold black deposition systems and laser trimming stations, allowing us to provide services precisely tailored to your needs and specifications.
Gold black films, which are extremely porous (less than 0.3% of bulk gold density), exhibit high wide-spectral-band absorptivity and low thermal mass. These coatings are particularly suitable for:
In addition to providing custom deposits on various substrates, we can integrate gold black coatings into various MEMS and sensors such as microbolometer detectors. An example of this is the EarthCARE project, which we supplied with gold black–coated detectors boasting outstanding long-term stability. This expertise can be customized to your specific needs.
A specific laser micromachining process was developed in order to singulate the blackened infrared detector pixels. The setup offers 1µm positioning accuracy and allows for ablation of 3- to 12-µm-wide channels through the gold black thickness while at the same time preserving pixel and gold black deposit integrity.
Our extensive experience in optical coating design and manufacturing combined with the stability and repeatability of our processes, enables us to repeat and adapt our processes to ensure high flexibility and custom services that yield results.
We offer gold black coatings featuring the following specifications:
