Denis Faubert, Ph.D.

Denis Faubert, who holds a Ph.D. in Laser Physics from Laval University, is at the head of the Aerospace Consortium for Research and Innovation Canada (CARIC) and, was until recently, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Consortium for Research and Innovation in Aerospace in Quebec (CRIAQ). 

He also acts as an advisor to the CEO of the Canadian Supercluster ScaleAI, which specializes in the application of artificial intelligence to improve supply chains.

Mr. Faubert's career has been spent mainly in applied research institutions. In particular, he was Senior Director of the Institut de recherche d'Hydro-Québec (IREQ). At Defence Research and Development Canada, he was Director General of the Valcartier Research Centre, as well as Director General of the National Research Program in Ottawa for two years.

He is very involved in the aerospace and cross-sectoral innovation community. Mr. Faubert sits on several committees and projects, including the Board of Directors of the Groupement aéronautique de recherche et développement en environnement (GARDN), the Institut national d'optique (INO), the Centre of Excellence in Energy Efficiency (C3E), the Canadian Institute for Mobility and Aerospace (ICMA) and Île-du-savoir. 

Denis Faubert has received several honors, including the prestigious National Research Council of Canada Centennial Scholarship, the Deputy Minister of Defence Award for Innovation, and the Summa Career Award from the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Laval University.
