Denis Faubert holds a Ph.D. in Laser Physics from Laval University. His career has been spent mainly in applied research institutions. In particular, he was Senior Director of the Institut de recherche d'Hydro-Québec (IREQ). At Defence Research and Development Canada, he was Director General of the Valcartier Research Centre, as well as Director General of the National Research Program in Ottawa. He also ran industrial consortiums (CRIAQ and CARIC) before joining ScaleAI, a canadian supercluster promoting artificial intelligence.
He is very involved in the aerospace and cross-sectoral innovation community. Mr. Faubert sits on several committees and projects, including the Board of Directors of the Groupement aéronautique de recherche et développement en environnement (GARDN), the Institut national d'optique (INO), and the Centre of Excellence in Energy Efficiency (C3E). He is also governor of Île-du-savoir, a Montréal non-profit organization.
Denis Faubert has received several honors, including the prestigious National Research Council of Canada Centennial Scholarship, the Deputy Minister of Defence Award for Innovation, and the Summa Career Award from the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Laval University.
