Hugues St-Pierre

Hugues St-Pierre holds a Bachelor of Administration from Université du Québec in Rimouski and studied Advanced Management at Harvard University in Boston in 1998.

After starting his career at the Royal Bank of Canada, he worked for more than 31 years at Quebectel, now TELUS Quebec, whose head office is located in Rimouski, and served in a number of positions in various departments.

He was President and Chief Executive Officer of this company for eight years from 1998 to 2006. During this period, he implemented a business development program for TELUS Québec throughout the province, which increased the company’s revenue from less than $300 million in 1998 to $500 million at the end of 2004.

Additionally, during this period, he concluded a partnership program with the Government of Québec, which resulted in investments of $500 million and created more than 800 jobs in the province. He is known for his diversified experience as a corporate executive and his results-focused management skills. His people-oriented leadership style based on team work and discipline is highly appreciated.

Mr. St-Pierre is currently the President of MAXAB, a management consulting firm he founded in 2006 mainly to support businesses in his region.

He has served as a director on several boards of directors and advisory committees. He continues to serve on several of them. He is currently Vice-Chairman of the Board of the Rimouski Marine Biotechnology Research Center, president of the Miralis advisory committee , and member of the board of directors of the Société de promotion économique de Rimouski. In addition, he has been and continues to be involved in several community causes and fundraising campaigns while being active in issues with an economic nature in his region.
